盼秋轻轻翻了一页提纲，声音缓下来了一些，但眼中藏着一点笑意。
“Um… this might be a bit of a shift in tone.” （“我接下来的问题可能有点‘风格突变’。”）
Ethan 轻笑了一声。
“Go for it.” （“没关系，尽管问。”）
盼秋轻声说：
“I saw on your faculty page that you’ve officiated weddings?” （“我在你学院主页上看到你主持过婚礼？”）
Ethan 边微笑着边点头说道：
“I have. A few, actually.” （“是的。主持过几场。”）
“That’s… quite unexpected. What made you start doing that?” （“这个有点出人意料。你是怎么开始做这件事的？”）
她的语气略带轻松，但不是八卦式的，而是从“研究者对人的情感实践”角度好奇。
Ethan笑了笑，像在回忆一场有点手忙脚乱又出奇温馨的闹剧。
“Well… the first time was not exactly planned.” （“嗯……第一次，其实完全不是计划好的。”）
他轻轻笑了一下，语气像在讲某种天降任务。

“Turns out, in our state, it’s not that hard. You can get ordained online in, like, ten minutes.” （“后来我发现，在我们这个州，其实挺简单的。你只要在网上申请注册一下，大概十分钟就搞定了。”）
盼秋忍不住轻笑了一下。
“Did you actually do it right there? At the wedding venue?” （“你是当场就注册的吗？就在婚礼现场？”）
Ethan点点头，半是认真半是自嘲。
“Yep. Sitting on a picnic bench in a suit, with spotty Wi-Fi, trying to make sure I spelled my name right on the form.” （“对。我穿着西装坐在一个野餐长椅上，用断断续续的Wi-Fi填表，还一边确认自己有没有拼错名字。”）
盼秋笑出声：
“So how did it go?” （“那后来怎么样？”）
