You travel so often. Are you tired of it, or do you enjoy it?

My little eagle,
Leak in the ceiling is not nice. You should tell your landlord immediately. If it starts to form mold (and this will happen quickly), it might not be possible to get rid of it anymore.
I prefer Jeddah to Dubai. I like places with a sense of history. Dubai is artificial. There is no depth, just surfaces.
I like the desert, because I can see the horizon for ever. In the desert, I feel free. Green is rooted, I am not a rooted person. Travel is a way to see the world, the best education.
Yes, I am tired of always traveling, but I am excited to learn about other cultures and experience other senses. Travel make me feel alive.

My mysterious man,
I guess some poor people in Jeddah might prefer to live in Dubai if possible. Perhaps some educated individuals would be inclined towards places that exude a strong sense of history, but the local people there might think differently... maybe they just want to live in a clean, bright, convenient place. With the process of urbanization in China, some historical buildings, streets, and villages are being destroyed, and some people are distressed about this situation. But this didn't just happen today... in Chinese history, books, temples, palaces, or just ordinary houses... were burnt down again and again... The best parts are gone... Maybe it is a blessing to live without any burden of history... for a nation, or for a person... just maybe...
When I can really see you? Is August possible? Or September?
Your little eagle
My little eagle,
No everything old is good, I agree. But majority of “new”is not better.
New is good ONLY IF it’s better than the old. That’s why I do what I do, to try to make the “new” better than the “old”.
When I came to Beijing, my travel agent asked me if I wanted to stay in a fancy 5 star Western Hotel. I told him that I prefer a Hutong guest house. I am sure you would have made the same choice.
I have been to many “poor countries” and have spent time with poverty in Africa and India.
You are right, that’s not my life, but that’s a part of our humanity.
If you really have been to Dubai in person, you probably would not like it. A society based on the superficial idea of the “new wealth” would (probably) not be kind to you. The perception of their security is only a mirage, as you know Dubai has fallen victim to the global economic downturn. And Money from the black oil is the origin of a lot of the problems in our world today.
I leave for Scotland tomorrow, I will send you a postcard, But by the time you receive it, the season would have changed.
I guess we will be able to meet in August. No need to wait until September.

My little eagle,
I have been thinking about you the past few days. I realize I have not heard from you in a while. I just came back to LA from the opening of a museum I designed in Minneapolis.
It was a big success, but I am looking for a change in my life too...
I will come “unexpectedly” to China. I will meet you...unless you “discard” of me.
Mike
My mysterious man,
I have been busy with my work recently. Don’t worry, you cannot get rid of me so easily. What kind of change are you looking for? Is that anything to do with me? I hope so.
Today the office is so quiet... several colleagues quit yesterday after they got their salary for this month. The overtime work without pay at the advertising company is really excessive. My boss is busy interviewing people upstairs. I cannot understand why he would rather take so much trouble and time to get new employees instead of keeping the old ones by raising their salary.
Please come back to me soon, I miss you terribly.
